Vila Mimosa takes us behind the scenes of Rio’s notorious sex industry as Schneider mixes fashion and reportage to startling effect.
In the harsh Brazilian back streets on a fashion shoot, Schneider took the opportunity to capture something of the sub-culture in which he found himself.
Set in the grim surroundings of the Vila Mimosa, his shoot mixes models with local prostitutes and their customers.
The resulting images are dangerous, raw and, at times, shocking, yet they allude to the glamour of the catwalk.
